Frutig Farms Wedding – Ann Arbor, Michigan

Eric and Libby’s love story is so sweet and special to me. They tied the knot in a romantic wedding at Frutig Farms in Ann Arbor, Michigan in one of my favorite weddings of the year. I have had the honor of photographing their journey as a couple since their proposal, so it’s safe to say they hold a special place in my heart.

Back in May of 2019, Eric reached out to me to photograph his proposal to Libby. One month later, he asked and she said, “YES!” at Silverwood Park in New Brighton, Minnesota. I was so incredibly honored to be asked to be their wedding photographer! Just one week before my own wedding, they flew me out to Ann Arbor to capture their own big day.

After many direct impacts due to the pandemic, the time finally came for Eric and Libby to say, “I do.” Although their big day was delayed by an entire year, they were such a gracious couple – truly so in love and just happy to finally get to spend their lives together. You know how they say rain on a wedding day is good luck? It had rained all morning on their wedding day, but as soon as I arrived to start photographing, the sun came out and stuck around all day; it truly was the definition of the perfect Fall wedding.

As if the perfect weather wasn’t enough, Libby had the most supportive group of women surrounding her as she got ready. The getting ready area for the bridal party was so sweet. The bridal party all wore the cutest matching pajama sets (I even wanted a set so I could match them!). Now, Eric’s getting ready situation was the 2nd most memorable part of the day for me. Let’s just say, the shoes he is wearing in the first few photos, were not his! Yep, that’s right. He forgot his wedding shoes! Thank goodness he had them in time for his first look with his bride.

The first most memorable part of the day, though, was definitely Eric and Libby’s private vows. After their first look, they stood for a few moments as they read their vows to each other. Even though I was crying the entire time, I felt so incredibly grateful in that moment to be able to document their love story for them once again. I already can’t wait to capture their next milestone. Thank you both for including me in your lives; it’s truly an honor.
