8 Nontraditional Questions for your Wedding Photographer

As a full-time intimate wedding and adventurous elopement photographer and recent bride myself, I eat, sleep, breathe weddings (& I love it)!

When I was planning my own wedding, I was overwhelmed by allll the details I needed to keep track of when booking each vendor. I mean, as a photographer I thought planning a wedding was going to be a breeze. Wow, I was wrong! There are so many crucial details that you need to keep in mind when booking each vendor.

When it comes to booking your ✨ wedding photographer ✨ here are 8 nontraditional questions to ask to make sure you know what you’re agreeing to and making sure they’re the perfect fit for you and your day.

Questions to ask your wedding photographer before booking:

  1. Do you have insurance?
  2. Are there any hidden fees/travel fees?
  3. How do you back up your photos?
  4. What’s your gallery turnaround time?
  5. Do we have printing rights for our images?
  6. What happens if you can’t make it to our wedding, due to an illness or emergency?
  7. How many photos do we receive from our day?
  8. How would you describe your editing style?

Lastly, make sure you sign a contract and read it thoroughly. Not only does this lock in your photographer for your exact date, but it allows you to know your rights in case you need to reschedule, choose to cancel your contract, how to move forward if you’re photographer cancels on their end, etc.

Contracts are in place to protect both you and your photographer!

There you have it. If you have been wanting to connect with me about your wedding, I would love to hear from you! Start by filling out the contact form on my website here and I will follow-up with you via email ASAP. 🤗
