Lindsey and Tyler’s Northern Minnesota backyard wedding was already months ago and I am still obsessing over them + their day. From the very first time we hopped on a call together, I was hooked on their love story. Tyler once said he never saw himself getting married until he met Lindsey. But once he met Lindsey, everything changed. Do I have your attention (and tears) yet?! 🥹

Backyard Wedding

Lindsey and Tyler are two of the most outgoing, spunky, caring people I’ve ever met. The biggest thing that stood out to me about them and their day was how much intentionality went into every detail. A few years ago, they completed their dream home together. It was so special that they chose their home for their getting ready space and reception. But the ceremony itself took place at Lindsey’s parents’ house on a lake built by her dad. And actually, that’s where Lindsey and Tyler’s love story begins.

Lindsey and Tyler first met through mutual friends in 2012. Tyler took the opportunity to ask “100 questions” about the lake. From that day forward, Tyler always called her “pond girl”. Several years past when they reconnected on Facebook. Their first date was to At Home to help Tyler redecorate his house (#goals). 10 years after they first met, they said “I do” over the same lake that started it all.

The Party

Okay, let me tell you something. Lindsey, Tyler, and their crew know how to party. Once the knot was tied, it was time to get the party started. They had the most epic grand entrance that set the precedent for all grand entrances. Let’s just say it involved a good ole round of flippy cup and that the ladies WON. After the speeches, cake cutting, and first dances, I was able to sneak Lindsey and Tyler away for some sunset romantics. Their sweet pups even made an appearance 🥰

Lindsey and Tyler’s Northern Minnesota backyard wedding was such an honor to capture. There’s something so special about a couple that fits so perfectly together. Jaynah and John’s rustic Saint Charles, Minnesota wedding was nothing short of magic. The love between this beautiful couple was so evident throughout the entire day. They said “I do” at the stunning St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Leading up to their wedding day, I was so dang giddy to have the opportunity to capture their love. Their love story is just the sweetest.

When Jaynah first reached to inquire, she told me that her and John were high school sweethearts. Honestly, does it even get better than that?! A while before John popped the question, Jaynah’s family began restoring her grandpa’s old barn to turn it into an event center. One night, John surprised Jaynah in the very barn that they spent so much time restoring. It was nothing short of magical. Flash forward to their wedding day, Jaynah and John celebrated their love with their friends and family at the Barn at Cedar Knoll beneath 7 dazzling crystal chandeliers.

This was one of those weddings that it was almost impossible to choose a favorite  moment from. The morning of the wedding, Jaynah was surrounded by so many supportive women encouraging her; Jaynah was such a joyful bride. In lieu of a first look with John, Jaynah and her father had a first look where they read each other letters. It’s safe to say I sobbed throughout the entire day. After a beautiful ceremony, the bridal party traveled to Whitewater State Park for their photos. It was such a joy to be surrounded by so many people hyping each other up and truly celebrating with Jaynah and John.

Above all though, I absolutely couldn’t leave out the sunset romantics with the new Mr. and Mrs. The Barn at Cedar Knoll is located on a large acreage in a rural area. We took a four-wheeler out to the middle of a pasture to catch the prettiest sunset. We spent some time capturing the love of Jaynah and John with an audience of cows! What a dream.

Capturing different chapters in a couple’s love story fills my heart to the brim. I am so thankful to the couples I have met and spent so much time with – on the happiest days of their lives. The love story of Tanisha and Guy is one of the sweetest. I absolutely love getting to learn more about my couples. They said, “I do” at the Braham Event Center in central Minnesota. Their romantic Fall wedding was simply magical.

Tanisha and Guy first met on a dating app, and it’s like the rest is history. However, when they were telling me their story, I couldn’t help but to giggle. Guy is originally from South Carolina – as a midwest gal who puts a little too much emphasis on my O’s, he definitely has a strong Southern accent. So much so that the first time he met Tanisha, she couldn’t understand him! But Guy understood one thing immediately – it was love at first sight when they met.

The Wedding Day

Picking just one “favorite” part of Tanisha and Guy’s Braham Event Center wedding day is almost impossible. The golden lighting for their romantics was truly what dreams are made of for a photographer. From their first look to their touching vows said in their ceremony, it’s safe to say I was crying more than I care to admit. Ultimately, though, the kindness of this couple stood out the most to me. They handled every hiccup on their big day with such grace; all they cared about was finally getting to tie the knot in front of their people.

No matter what comes your way on your wedding day, I urge you to remember that it’s just “fluff”. What matters most at the end of the day is that you get to marry the love of your life!

Eric and Libby’s love story is so sweet and special to me. They tied the knot in a romantic wedding at Frutig Farms in Ann Arbor, Michigan in one of my favorite weddings of the year. I have had the honor of photographing their journey as a couple since their proposal, so it’s safe to say they hold a special place in my heart.

Back in May of 2019, Eric reached out to me to photograph his proposal to Libby. One month later, he asked and she said, “YES!” at Silverwood Park in New Brighton, Minnesota. I was so incredibly honored to be asked to be their wedding photographer! Just one week before my own wedding, they flew me out to Ann Arbor to capture their own big day.

After many direct impacts due to the pandemic, the time finally came for Eric and Libby to say, “I do.” Although their big day was delayed by an entire year, they were such a gracious couple – truly so in love and just happy to finally get to spend their lives together. You know how they say rain on a wedding day is good luck? It had rained all morning on their wedding day, but as soon as I arrived to start photographing, the sun came out and stuck around all day; it truly was the definition of the perfect Fall wedding.

As if the perfect weather wasn’t enough, Libby had the most supportive group of women surrounding her as she got ready. The getting ready area for the bridal party was so sweet. The bridal party all wore the cutest matching pajama sets (I even wanted a set so I could match them!). Now, Eric’s getting ready situation was the 2nd most memorable part of the day for me. Let’s just say, the shoes he is wearing in the first few photos, were not his! Yep, that’s right. He forgot his wedding shoes! Thank goodness he had them in time for his first look with his bride.

The first most memorable part of the day, though, was definitely Eric and Libby’s private vows. After their first look, they stood for a few moments as they read their vows to each other. Even though I was crying the entire time, I felt so incredibly grateful in that moment to be able to document their love story for them once again. I already can’t wait to capture their next milestone. Thank you both for including me in your lives; it’s truly an honor.
